As the festive season ends, recycle your real Christmas tree to benefit both the environment and Rotherham Hospice.
Once again, the hospice will be running its ‘tree-cycling’ service between Monday 13th and Wednesday 15th January.
For a monetary donation of your choice, your real Christmas tree (sans decorations and lights) can be collected by a team of volunteers ready to be chipped and recycled by local landscaping company, Garden Do-It-All Maintenance.
This January’s eco-friendly disposal service saved 3,728 kg of carbon dioxide emissions going into landfill. But recycling your Christmas tree with Rotherham Hospice not only benefits the environment but also supports the vital services the hospice provides 365 days a year.
All donations go directly towards helping Rotherham Hospice provide end of life care for anyone over the age of 18 in Rotherham, both in the 14-bed hospice building and out in the community via their Hospice at Home service.
The care they offer doesn’t just stop at the patient. They also support patients’ families as well, keep them involved and checking on their wellbeing.
The tree collection service will be offered throughout the borough at S60, S61, S62, S63, S64, S65 and S66 postcodes.
Register your festive fir for collection before Tuesday 7th January to ensure your house is added to the schedule.
