We Visit: Meadowhall’s Christmas Post Room


The magic of Christmas is the greatest of gifts so it was a real treat to be invited for a sneak peek at Meadowhall’s newest attraction for the festive season; The Christmas Post Room.

Following the success of this summer’s pop-up selfie station which attracted over 150,000 visitors, Meadowhall’s popular photo backdrop room has been given a Christmas makeover with nine new interactive areas to capture your perfect ‘Elfies.

While their colleagues are busy finishing up the Christmas present orders before the big day, a few of Santa’s elves have travelled from the North Pole to greet families and lead them through the different selfie stations.

Believe in your ‘Elfie

Get your phones and cameras at the ready to capture the perfect photos, Boomerangs and social media stories.

The Frozen Room

Yoo-Hoo! Are you ready for a frozen treat? For the first time in forever, you can be your very own ice king or queen and sit on the frozen throne – that’s if the cold doesn’t bother you!

All I Want for Christmas is You

Christmas isn’t always about presents – it’s about your presence, too. So be the gift your family and friends really want and burst out of this giant present box.

Glitter Room

‘Tis the season to sparkle so glitter all day long as you throw confetti in the air like you just don’t care. Can you make glitter angels?

Ho-Ho Hotline

You used to call me on my elf phone… Santa knows when that Ho-Ho Hotline blings and that can only mean one thing – he’s watching to see if you’re being naughty or nice.

Santa’s Sleigh Ride

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? That sound means winter is coming. Hop on board Santa’s vehicle of choice and get photographic evidence to prove it is real – your selfies will sleigh all Christmas long.

Candy Cane

The sweetest of moments are those shared together so get your candy cane sweeties together and swing into the festive season on this sugary red and white backdrop.

Christmas Pudding

If you’re a little bit nutty, a little bit sweet and a little bit fruity, you’ll love to pop up from inside the giant Christmas pudding bauble.


Christmas doesn’t just have to be about green, red and gold. If you’re dreaming of a pink Christmas this year then you’re in the right place. This cotton candy style room is makes for the perfect Insta backdrop.

Snowy Ball Pit

There’s snow place like Meadowhall at Christmas so jump straight into their new winter wonderland for lots of fun in the snowy white ball pit without feeling the cold of real snow.

Santa’s Cabin

And before you leave, don’t forget to visit Santa in his secret grotto where he will be waiting with a gift for each child.

Located on the Upper Arcade near to Marks and Spencer, the Christmas Post Room is open daily until Christmas Eve, with the last session at 5.40pm each day.

Tickets for the Christmas Post Room are £3.50 per person, or £6.50 for children who would also like to visit Santa’s Grotto. To avoid disappointment at peak times, book your chosen slot online here

On Wednesday 4th December, there will also be three relaxed sessions for families with special requirements. These are 5pm, 5.20pm and 5.40pm.
