Join free Wild Wellbeing sessions this winter

This New Year, step away from screens and schedules and escape the winter blues with free nature-based wellbeing sessions for adults in South Yorkshire.

The Winter Wild Wellbeing programme, delivered by Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust, is designed to ease stress, support recovery from ill health, and offer a calming break during the darker months.

Through gentle guided time outdoors, participants can explore how nature connection helps lift mood, rebuild balance, and reduce the impact of winter pressures on overall wellbeing.

Sessions run once a month at locations in Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster until March 2026.

They are suitable for anyone aged over 18, including those experiencing sickness absences from work or looking to strengthen their wellbeing through time outside. Sessions include a short walk around the neighbouring park or green space, followed by indoor or outdoor nature-themed activities such as crafts or gardening sessions.

Each session is free to attend thanks to support from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority’s ‘Health and Growth Accelerator’ Fund, which is aimed at supporting the wellbeing of people mainly of working age.
