About Cheryl

Starting out as a long-legged, long-handed sales rep at just sweet 17, Cheryl has dedicated over 30 years to advertising sales.

Working on the likes of Worksop Guardian, South Yorkshire Times, and the Rotherham Advertiser, Cheryl gained a credible reputation, building a loyal customer base who have moved with her new roles.

After a stint in local radio sales, Cheryl was then head-hunted to be the lead rep on Aroundtown, moving back to her favoured print publications.

Raising the profile of Aroundtown, Cheryl then made the choice to take over ownership of the magazine in 2013 – and has never looked back since.

With 30 years spent working in one town, its fair to say her time in advertising has seen a world of change – gone are the days of  cut and paste advocate books.

Today, she has worked hard to turn around the business and proudly put her name to a magazine that people cherish.

She’s become a well-known face across the area. But what makes her tick?

A loving wife and mum-of-one, any spare time Cheryl has is spent on girly shopping days or trips out with the family. If not in sunny Sheffield, Cheryl can be found exploring another Mediterranean city or town.

She’s never watched a film in her life, and she never drinks a full cup of coffee. But all is forgiven as she makes the meanest chocolate cake around. The secret? Three times the mixture, apparently.

About Amber

Fresh out of university with a first class Journalism degree, Amber was on the hunt for her first graduate role in an exciting, ever-evolving industry.

After contacting Cheryl to volunteer her new-found writing skills, the partnership quickly blossomed, with the pair creating new and exciting features for customer as well as improving customer content in both adverts and editorials.

Since starting in 2013, Amber has written thousands upon thousands of words, with fascinating editorial content that readers continue to enjoy. Focusing on local history, communities or general topics, Amber continues to delve deeper into the story to bring out the best.

She’s good with words and a stickler for structure, but what about behind the scenes?

With two special men in her life, her partner Chris and their Labrador Arthur, weekends for Amber are spent out walking in the Peaks or around South Yorkshire.

A true Nineties child, she loves cheesy pop songs, Disney films, and has a penchant for boybands. She’s horrendous at dancing, but she’s a whiz in the kitchen, bringing in new treats to keep AT Towers going.

Ta Dah! That’s everyone… Bet you didn’t realise there are just two of us, did you.

Like a harmonic duet, the dazzling duo complement each other’s strengths – whilst one talks, the other one writes and the rest, as they say, is history.
