Catch the music BUG with Bramley Ukulele Group

There’s a good kind of bug going around in Rotherham this winter – and once it bites, it’s hard to shake.

Bramley Ukulele Group, or BUGs as they’re affectionately known, is new group that is all about catching the joy of making music together.

With just four strings and a welcoming atmosphere, members quickly discover how easy it is to get hooked, whether you’re picking up a ukulele for the first time or dusting off one that’s been hiding at home.

They meet every Thursday morning at the Bill Chafer Youth Centre on Flash Lane for two hours of relaxed strumming, friendly banter, and a surprisingly impressive range of songs. One minute they’re tackling a classic Beatles number, the next they’ve somehow broken into Disney, folk, country, or a cheeky bit of rock. If it has chords, they’ll give it a go.

There’s no audition required and you don’t need to read music or have any music experience. Just expect lots of laughter, learning and the unmistakable buzz that comes from strumming in good company.

So whether you fancy yourself as the next George Formby or you simply want a hobby that’s uplifting, welcoming and guaranteed to inject some happiness into your week, head along and see what all the buzz is about.

Membership is just £10 for the year with £2 weekly subs to help pay for room hire.

Every Thursday 10am-12pm. Bill Chafer Youth Centre Flash Ln, Bramley, Rotherham S66 1TS
