From tackling corruption on Line of Duty to tackling isolation through song, Vicky McClure’s impact off-screen will be heard in Rotherham this March when her Our Dementia Choir performs a special fundraising concert in Greasbrough.
The concert is being organised by Rotherham Rotary Club who hope the evening will not only entertain but also draw attention to the importance of compassionate care for those living with dementia.

Founded in 2018 for a BBC1 documentary, Our Dementia Choir brings together people living with dementia from McClure’s hometown of Nottingham.
Having cared for her grandma who had dementia, the award-winning actor wanted to create a supportive space where music fosters connection and joy even when words are hard to find.
This will be the choir’s first performance in Rotherham, with a special event at Greasbrough Club on Friday 20th March.
They’ll be joined by special guests, Friends in Harmony choir from Bramley, for an evening that promises to be a moving celebration of community, memory and the transformative power of music.
The event will be in aid of Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity’s dementia appeal which aims to raise £250,000 to transform wards at Rotherham Hospital into more dementia-friendly spaces.
Plans include quiet rooms for therapeutic activities, rest areas for loved ones, RITA systems, a dementia-style café, games area and a garden-inspired potting shed space.
The show starts at 7pm and tickets are £12 per person. They can be purchased here.
