Ready, Steady, Sing with Millhouse Green Male Voice Choir

Are you a man who’s always wanted to sing but think you can’t?

This New Year, Millhouse Green Male Voice Choir is running a free six-week course specially designed for men to find their voice and build their confidence.

Sponsored by Barnsley Council and the Penistone Ward Alliance, the free sessions will take place every Sunday evening between January 11th and March 1st at Millhouse Green Institute on Manchester Road.

No previous singing experience is necessary. If you can sing a nursery rhyme or ‘Happy Birthday’ you probably have what it takes.

The fun and lively sessions will be led by professional voice coaches who will help you learn to sing with a natural and fully supported sound by developing techniques such as good tone production, breath control and singing with dynamics.

At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to join the choir and take part in the annual concert at Penistone Paramount in March.

Millhouse Green Male Voice Choir is a well-established local choir that originally formed in 1967. They perform and compete across the country led by musical director, Rachel Atkinson.

If you decide to join, you’ll become part of the team and learn much more than just the notes. Each member does their bit for the overall sound and will enjoy personal support, friendly rivalry and all the benefits of a social group.

Sessions held Sundays 6pm to 7.30pm

Millhouse Green Institute, Manchester Road, Millhouse Green S36 9NP
