Rotherham’s The Arc Cinema celebrates first anniversary

One year ago, The Arc Cinema opened its doors with a mission: to bring the magic of film back to the heart of Rotherham.

And they’ve done that and more. After 30 years without a local cinema, The Arc Cinema has won over audiences with luxury recliner seating, spotless surroundings, and prices that make a night at the movies accessible to everyone.

Throughout September, they’re celebrating their first anniversary in true cinematic style with a blast from the past and a deal that’s hard to resist.

Introducing Fiver Films – a special anniversary promotion offering £5 tickets for any film, every weekend in September. The online-only promotion will be available all-day on Fridays and before 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Whether you’re going for the blockbusters, the indies, the family fun, or the throwback favourites, there’s never been a better time to hit the big screen.

And speaking of throwbacks…

To mark 40 years of the iconic time-travel classic Back to the Future, The Arc Cinema is rolling out the flux capacitor and launching a totally rad Back to the ‘80s Film Festival during September.

A nostalgic tribute to the decade that gave us big hair, bold fashion, and some of the most beloved movies in cinema history, there will be a different ‘80s film on show each weekend.

From the sci-fi neon of Blade Runner to the heartfelt fantasy of Big, the geeky charm of Weird Science and the ghost-hunting hilarity of Ghostbusters, the film fest line-up is packed with cult favourites that defined a generation.

Whether you’re reliving your youth or discovering these classics for the first time, there’s no better place to experience them than on the big screen where they belong. There are also a few surprises planned, including a visit from the spooktacular Ectomobile from Ghostbusters.

From the past to the future, autumn sees a fantastic schedule of blockbuster new releases ready to hit the silver screen.

Prepare for chills, thrills, and high-stakes action with the likes of The Conjuring: Last Rites and The Strangers: Chapter 2, guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your luxury recliner.

Sci-fi returns in a big way with the long-awaited Tron: Ares, plunging audiences back into the digital frontier. And for those craving pure adrenaline, Mortal Kombat II delivers brutal battles and epic showdowns that demand to be seen on the big screen.

Kids will love joining Gabby and her paw-some friends such as CatRat and DJ Catnip in the new Gabby’s Dollhouse movie.

And get ready for an epic adventure to Middle-earth with The Hobbit unexpected marathon exclusively at The Arc Cinema this September with all three films back-to-back – that’s over nine hours of cinema!
