Free art and design sessions for Rotherham teenagers

Teenagers in Rotherham are invited to take part in free weekly art and design sessions at Rotherham College as part of the National Saturday Club.

This is a great opportunity for young people aged between 13 and 16 to develop new skills, make new friends, achieve a Bronze Art Award and showcase their artwork in a national exhibition.

The National Saturday Club sessions take place each Saturday morning between 9am and 12pm. Members are taught by experienced lecturers from Rotherham College’s art and design department, experimenting with a range of art-based activities such as printmaking, painting and drawing, collage and mood-boarding, stop-motion animation, and digital and traditional photography.

There is also the opportunity to take part in national events throughout the year including visits to leading cultural institutions, industry masterclasses, and an exhibition in the summer of all Club members’ work at London’s prestigious Somerset House.

The National Saturday Club programme is free, has no exams and allow learners to gain insight into what it could be like to study a creative course at Rotherham College once they leave school.
