In a season associated with renewal, the luminous Requiem by John Rutter will be brought to light this April with a performance by Waldershelf Singers.
The Stocksbridge-based amateur choir will be performing their annual spring concert at St Mary’s Church in Bolsterstone on Saturday 25th April.

They will be joined by special guests, The Singers’ Collective from Sheffield, accompanied by a chamber ensemble of musicians.
Along with popular classical, gospel and traditional folk songs, the second half of the concert will go through the seven movements of Requiem in both traditional Latin and English psalm.
Rutter’s Requiem has become one of the most beloved choral settings of the late 20th century that continues to resonate with performers and listeners alike.
Waldershelf Singers is made up of non-professional singers who come together for the enjoyment of singing and the wider benefits it has on social, emotional and mental wellbeing.
Founded in 1962, the group has been performing across the county for over 60 years and one of their current sopranos has been a member from the very start.
As well as choral and 16th century madrigal music, the choir also likes to sing a wide variety of music including musical theatre, pop and rock, and ballads.
Their spring concert starts at 7pm and tickets are £10 per person. They can be purchased at here.
