For many people, Christmas is a time to spend with loved ones. But it can also be a time of year where our thoughts turn to those we miss who have sadly passed away.
This year, Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity is inviting people in South Yorkshire to celebrate those who will never be forgotten by making an in-memory dedication on their Tree of Memories.
For a suggested donation of £10, you can share a special message on the charity’s Tree of Memories in Rotherham Hospital and their online memorial tree. You will also receive a keepsake bauble made from premium card that you can personalise to hang on your Christmas tree at home.
All money raised from this new tradition will go towards the charity’s newly launched dementia appeal, which aims to raise £250,000 to enhance dementia services within Rotherham Hospital and the wider community.
As the tree glows throughout the festive season, it will serve as a reminder that although our loved ones may no longer be with us, they continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
You can donate online here and select a spot on the virtual tree. Once received, the charity will display your loved one’s bauble and message on their Tree of Memories in the hospital.
You can also make a donation and dedicate a memory over the phone. Please call the charity on 01709 426 821. Office hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5pm.
The charity is also hosting a Christmas Fair in the hospital’s entrance on Thursday 28th November between 10am and 3pm. There will be stalls, a tombola, carol singing, and a chance to meet Santa and Dr Ted.
