Get the WEURO ball rolling in Rotherham

This July, all eyes will be on Rotherham as it becomes one of nine host cities delivering a record-breaking UEFA Women’s European Championship.

The best female players in Europe will join football fans from across the globe at Rotherham’s New York Stadium for three group games and a quarter final. Alongside the games, there will be a host of community events taking place throughout the month for you to get involved in.

For each match that Rotherham hosts, the town centre will be taken over by a festival of dance, movement, music, and food. Enjoy performances and music in All Saints’ Square, football-themed workshops and masterclasses along College Street, food and drink at the Minster Gardens, and a beautiful new public artwork at Effingham Square.

The main stage will be hosted by the South Yorkshire siren, Myra Dubois, fresh from performances on Britain’s Got Talent, London’s South Bank Centre and Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Hear the anthem for Rotherham

On Monday 18th July, join in the celebrations and listen to Rotherham anthem created specially to celebrate our unique history, heritage and sporting heroes. It will be performed by local school children and musicians alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Quintet.

Little Kicks with Little Nelson

Join Clifton Park Museum mascot, Little Nelson, for a super session of outdoor games for under 5s. Practice throwing, catching and scoring goals. Free session with a medal for each child.

Book your place at Riverside House Library

Throughout July, there will be various drop-in and bookable football themed activities taking place at Riverside House library. Have a game of table football or Subbuteo, create football games, or take part in the raps and limericks competition.
