A long-standing crown green bowling club in Barnsley is hoping new members will roll up and join them this May at a free taster session.
Locke Park Bowling Club will be hosting a Bowls’ Big Weekend event on Saturday 27th May at Locke Park in Barnsley.
Bowls’ Big Weekend is a national event that provides a great opportunity for people to learn more about this sociable and accessible sport.
Whether you want to meet new people, improve your health and fitness, or spend more time outdoors this summer, joining a crown green bowling club like Locke Park could be the right move for you.
The event, which runs from 11am until 4pm, is open to all ages from children to pensioners. Club members will be on hand to teach beginners the basics. The bowling green has wheelchair access and refreshments will be available on the day.
If you are unable to attend the event but would like to learn more about crown green bowling, the club offers taster sessions every Wednesday from 10.30am.
