Looking for where you can see Santa and his sleigh in South Yorkshire this year?

He’s a busy guy, but once again Santa is set to take a tour of Rotherham and Barnsley to bring a spot of festive spirit to our towns.

A number of charitable organisations in South Yorkshire are back with their sleigh runs which are a main part of their festive fundraising campaigns. They will be visiting streets and estates across the borough for people to catch a glimpse of Santa on his sleigh, as well as parking up outside supermarkets for passers-by to take their photographs.

These festive sleigh runs are all organised and manned by volunteers who have years of organising under their belts.

The elves will have their buckets at the ready for donations which will all go to good causes, charities and community groups. But many of the organisations also have facilities to donate via card, text or online payments.

Since last year’s sleigh runs, donations from the public have helped fund things like community defibrillators, kit and equipment for local sports teams, and support for community groups and local initiatives.

All dates and times listed are approximate so please be sure to check out each individual group’s Facebook page for more live updates on the day. All the events will take place throughout the evening.

And remember to be kind! These people are giving their time up in the lead up to Christmas to bring joy to others.
